Namun papan ketik di qwerty ini ada beberapa yang hilang fungsinya, tapi sangat nyaman di tangan saat melakukan pengetikan. Jarak dan ukuran kata yang besar membuat mengetik cepat tidak ada masalah.

Selain qwerty, layar di N900 juga hadir dengan teknologi layar sentuh. Akan tetapi sungguh disayangkan, teknologi layar sentuh yang dihasilkan masih resistance, yang artinya selain masih membutuhkan stylus, sentuhannya juga tidak maksimal walaupun saat scroll ke atas dan ke bawah sangat cepat.

N900 berlayar sentuh 3,5 inci kinerja komputasinya didukung prosesor ARM Cortex A8 600 MHz, sistem operasi Linux Maemo 5, dan memori internal 32 GB. Kemampuan multitasking untuk membuka sebanyak mungkin aplikasi secara bersamaan merupakan daya tarik utamanya. Fitur utama lainnya, kamera 5 megapiksel, GPS, koneksi HSPA, dan WiFi 802.11 b/g.
